Canes Land Commitment

We've landed another Oline for the upcoming class. 6'3, 265 lbs Shane Mcdermott from Wellington Palm Beach Central Highschool.

He played left tackle and center for his team in highschool and is set to be a center when he arrives at Miami. A short review of him is this: He's a mauler. He has a mean streak coming off the ball. He was sporting offer from West Virginia, Cincinnati, USF, Vanderbilt, and Stanford.

He says he's done with his trips and will be a Cane. We'll review for you the open practice at Traz Powell Stadium on Thursday. Thanks for being patient with us, we expect to be adding a lot more to the blog in the upcoming week.

Thanks for reading and Go Canes!

Edit: Link to his film on youtube.

MidWeek Update

Sorry for our absence the past few weeks, been busy trying to catch up on the stuff we put on the back-burner during recruiting season. We are planning on attending the open practice and the Spring Game. We also know that canesport.com is having an after party, with countless former players in attendance.

We are reading up on some practice reports and as of right now Streeter has done very well.

Also, Mike James is impressing everyone for a player who should still be in highschool. Expect him to contribute some this year as well. Additionally, the ball is being thrown down the field more this year with Whipple at the helm. Long gone are the days of the bubble screen on 3rd/4th and short.

We'll start picking up the activity on the blog again in the upcoming days leading into the open practices and try to keep you up to date.

Thanks for reading and Go Canes!

Canes get Dunbar!!!

The Canes just added their third commit for the 2010 class in Quinton Dunbar. Dunbar is a WR out of Booker T. Washington down here in Miami. He measures in at 6'3 1/2, 175lbs. Dunbar also runs the 40 in the 4.4 range. A lot of people have Dunbar rated at the #1 receiver down here in Dade county and think that at that size he will be a great addition to the already big WR core we have at UM.

Rumors are that Dunbar will not take any visits and that Miami is the only school he will be entertaining.
