As we all await the decision from Sam Barrington tonight at 8:30pm, just want to give a quick rundown on him. Barrington, a Jacksonville native, will be choosing between USF, Illinois and Miami. He has said that he thinks they are all good programs, but I will point out that he did emphasize that Miami was the best program out of the three. It is rumored that he reserved a spot at the Eclipse Night Club in Jacksonville. If this kid wants to announce at a night club, seems to me like Miami might be the place for him. But he won't do the usual hat picking thing. He said it will do something different, unique.
At 6'3, 220lbs., Barrington has the makings of becoming a big physically imposing linebacker, a position we are still lacking depth at. At that size he could be ready to see action immediately. His last official visit was down here in Miami the two weekends ago, but he did receive an in-home visit from coach Ron Zook later that week. In my opinion, it will come down to Illinois and Miami, with Miami having the edge. Stay tuned as we will bring you more coverage on his commitment tonight.
